For this assignment, I had to take two pictures, one in the studio and one not in the studio. The purpose was to show the difference between the two. After taking the photos, I used Photoshop to put in a border and display them neatly. I used layers, framing, resizing and text to do this assignment. In the studio, there are 3 main lights and a backdrop being used to capture a quality photo. In the non-studio photo, it was inside by a window. What I learned:
I learned that light exposure is really helpful when taking pictures inside (non-studio). This assignment is helpful for my final photoshop assignment because I have to make a border like the one up above.

For this assignment, I decided to take photos when I was at the lake. Since, I haven't done black and white setting on any of my photos. I thought these photos would look really cool in black and white. In Photoshop, I went to appliances and turned on the black and white setting. Edits: I turn the image black and white Technical data: Aperture: f/7.1 Shutter Speed: 1/500 ISO: 100 What I learned:
I learned that there is a black and white setting on a Canon camera but since I couldn't adjust the camera, I decided to desaturate the images on Photoshop. Either way is possible. I really enjoyed taking pictures at the lake. For this assignment, I had to pick 3 different photoshop tutorials to do. The first one is the collage with polaroids which is where you take one piece of the image and put a border around it. The second one is photo blending where you take 2 photos and you put one on top and one on the bottom then blend them together. This technique is used for movie posters. The third one is the water reflection where is looks like the person is in front of water and their reflection appears. What I learned:
I learned that some of these tutorials can be hard to understand and do correctly. I really liked the collage one because it was fun to take pieces and make it look it is was a collage. The photo blending one was weird because the colors didn't come out right but the idea of it was cool. The third one was the hardest one because of the picture I chose. For this assignment, I decided to take pictures of different types of buildings. These images capture different spaces and sizes of buildings. Some of them were taken from far away and up close to show the textures of each building. Since it was raining, the sky wasn't a good light source. No Edits Technical Data: Aperture: f/8 Shutter Speed: 1/200 ISO: 100 What I learned:
I learned that different angles can help and not help an image. I enjoyed this assignment because it was fun driving around to see different buildings. For this assignment, I took pictures of my friend, Megan, in different poses so then I could photoshop all of them on to one image. I had to work with photo stacks and layer masking to do this assignment. I decide to take the pictures in the library and the long hallway because they had the best lighting. What I learned:
I learned that when taking the pictures you have to make sure that one pose isn't on top of another pose because then you can't see one of them. I really enjoyed this assignment because it was fun moving each image to make one whole image and choosing poses for the photos. For this assignment, I decided to take pictures of my two grandmas and my mom because it was Mother's Day yesterday. This image captures my grandma smiling. Even though, we were indoors the window helped with the lighting. Edited: Cropped the image, clone stamped the wall out of the image and darken the background to make my grandma stand out. Technical Data: Aperture: f/5 Shutter speed: 1/60 ISO: 2500 What I learned:
I learned that images can turn out better if you take them from different angles. I really enjoyed this assignment because I was around my family. For this assignment, I had to take panoramic photos. First, I had to put on camera in Manual Mode then adjust the aperture, shutter and ISO for the right exposure. After that, I took pictures of a section then moved my camera a third of the first image and continued that for 4-6 photos. Finally, I put my images into Photoshop to merge them together to make on panoramic photo. Other: What I learned:
I learned that you have to use a tripod or be very still to take a good panoramic photo. I learned that the hardest part about this assignment is taking the photos not merging them together. This assignment I decide to take pictures at my brothers graduation. Some of these images were taking during the ceremony and after. I found a nice place in front of a tree for my brother to stand. I used automatic to see how the aperture and shutter balanced out and, in some, I used sports mode because it made the photo freeze when they were walking. Technical data: Aperture: f/4.5 Shutter speed: 1/400 ISO: 100 What I learned:
I learned that it can be hard to take pictures when there are a lot of people because in some of my photos, there are people in the background which can be good and not so good. Also, since it was inside the lighting was good so it was hard to get the setting straight to have it not too dark or too light. Otherwise, this assignment was fun! For this assignment, I had to take a picture of the school then pick a theme. My theme was the Jungle so I photoshopped lots of animals into the image. This assignment was to help me learn how to edit photos and use different tools. What I learn:
I learned how to add pictures and edit them to made them fit in. This assignment was really fun because it wasn't too confusing and easy to learn. |
